Let’s be honest, not all of us are feeling at our very best coming down off of a weekend like St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah. What better way to combat that debilitating grossness than with some refreshingly wonderful food!? Cue: Blend and Press Wellness Bar.
Blend and Press is located in The Hub on Habersham street. Upon first impression, we were taken back by not only how lovely the modern the space was, but also the warm and welcoming nature of the Blend employees.
Blend and Press’s mission statement is simple and precise: “Eat living foods from the Earth and you will be energized, focused & vibrant.” Though we only tried two of the items from their extensive and enticing menu, their mission statement rang true.
We decided to take a walk on the mythological side and try the Unicorn Bowl as one of our items and let’s just say it tasted just as good as it looked. The bowl was blended with seasonal fruits and vegetables, spirulina and almond milk, topped with raw cocoa nibs, finely shaved coconut, homemade granola and bananas. The variety of texture you experience from the toppings combined with the fresh flavors of the perfectly ripened seasonal fruits made for a delicious and refreshing flavor experience.
Paired with the bowl was the Tropical Zinger smoothie. This item certainly lived up to its name as the added ginger yielded a subtly delightful spice. This flavor, combined with the pineapple, mango, spinach and coconut water, created a harmonious balance of sweet and tangy flavors.
Upon ordering, we couldn’t help but notice some of the services Blend offers such as the Raw Reset juice cleanse. You can pick from one of three juicing programs to help reset and renew your body. Blend and Press claims that this program is their, “most detoxifying reset and best for those on a mission to cleanse deeply”. The three options consist of The Super Athlete, No Sweat Reset and The Deep Green Clean. This program is available just in time for Spring and Summer to get you feeling your absolute best!
With the use of fresh fruits and vegetables, a welcoming and positive environment and their strong belief in providing healthy, wholesome options for the masses Blend and Press Wellness Bar has the Shutter at the Menu seal of approval.
